Transparency International Belgium (TIB) is pleased to announce our conference on the 10th of June: ‘Corruption Trends & the Crucial Role of Investigative Journalism in Belgium and Europe.’
Belgium lost 4 points in our latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) in 2024, dropping to a score of 69 out of 100, its lowest level ever recorded. That’s why we’ll be welcoming Belgian anti-corruption campaigners and investigative journalists to discuss how best to fight this battle, in Belgium and beyond.
During our trilingual conference (FR/NL/EN), Michel Claise, the former judge who oversaw the investigation into the Qatargate scandal, and Lise Witteman, Deputy Editor in Chief of Follow the Money EU, the international investigative website, will be among those speaking. A panel discussion will then take place with Michel Claise and Simon Van Dorpe, Lise Witteman’s colleague at Follow the Money EU, which will be moderated by Antonio Morrettini, journalist at La Libre.
Date: Tuesday, June 10, 2025
